Informational Meeting, September 4, 2024

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) and National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) will be combined this year at Hazen Union School. Both societies are nationally recognized clubs for students in grades 8-12 who are passionate about visual arts and love creating, volunteering and raising awareness about art education in school and within the community. Members and their school art program are eligible for several awards and grant programs, and are encouraged to submit articles and artwork for publication in the NAHS News, which is published twice a year and is received by students as well as sponsors.

An informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 4th in Mrs. Camber's art room (Room 150) during Flex Block from 10:14AM-10:49AM. All who are interested are encouraged to attend.

Since 1978, the National Art Honor Society programs have supported student members in their efforts to attain the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service. The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is more than just an “art club”.  Participation in NAHS provides students, faculty, school, and community with invaluable benefits—including peer recognition, leadership growth opportunities, college and career preparation, recognition of their school art program, and so much more.

A President, Vice-president, Treasurer and Secretary will be nominated for the Chapter. These students will help guide Society goals for monthly meetings, activities, and possible arts-based field trips. The Society will conclude in the spring with a traditional induction ceremony and art exhibition.

How to get involved

Students are required to meet eligibility criteria for membership as detailed in our chapter’s constitution and bylaws, including GPA requirements, completion of various art courses, and attending required monthly meetings and community service activities.

Please contact Mrs. Camber for information.
