Anja Pfeffer will run the from July 8th to August 3rd, 2019. In the mornings, participants will learn WonHwaDo
(Korean inner martial art) at Hazen Union School. One afternoon a week, participants will go to the Circle of
Harmony Learning Center in East Hardwick where they will learn to build mutually respectful relationships with
horses. This program is free of charge and is designed to help participants improve their self-awareness, self-
management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making skills. Students who
successfully complete all 4 weeks will receive 1/2 elective credit. For more information, please contact.

High school girls who have completed their junior year of high school are eligible to apply to become an
American Legion Auxiliary Green Mountain State delegate.The Legion selects delegates who spend an
intensive week (6 days) of working together as self-governing citizens learning how to participate in the
functioning of Vermont’s local and state government. Delegates will spend their time campaigning for local and
statewide office or serving as attorneys in the State’s judicial system. After learning how to govern their state,
the delegates will put what they have learned to use when they attend a mock-government session at the
Vermont State House as part of their girls state experience. Delegates will have the opportunity to run for
office, draft their own legislation, and act as elected officials or attorneys, and will have access to their elected
Officials.

HOBY aims to inspire young people to make a difference and become catalysts for positive change in their
home, school, workplace, and community. High Schools select students from their sophomore class to attend
each year and leader. They are immersed in a rich leadership curriculum and involved in a social change
community service project. This year’s VT State Leadership Seminar is at St. Michael’s College

A program that teaches town and state government for two rising high school senior boys (current juniors). Students who demonstrate the potential to lead in a positive manner are eligible to participate.
