STEM/Makerspace
STEM & Makerspace
Hazen Union School has a robust Makerspace as part of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics program. Students are introduced to maker tools, products, and processing in their middle school years. Coding and programming, as part of the Amazon Future Engineers Program, is embedded in middle school science classes.
As students move through high school learning experiences, they are able to take Makerspace classes. These individually-designed programs allow students to learn to think and act as an engineer and innovator. They are able to learn and leverage 3D designing, printing, assembling, CNC machining, and drafting processes to create and experiment. Students are encouraged to apply their learning to projects and entrepreneurship.
