OSSU Equity Statement
The Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union (OSSU) is committed to growing a culture of equity, in which each and every student receives the personalized resources and educational opportunities they need to learn and thrive. Individual success or failure should not correlate with any social or cultural factor, which includes but is not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, family economics, socioeconomic status, class, geography, disability status, language, English learning status, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, mental and physical health, and/or initial skills, proficiencies, and lived experiences.
The supervisory union will implement principles and frameworks of equity within all policies, programs, operations, practices, and resource allocations. The Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union holds itself and all employees, students, and volunteers accountable for building a supervisory union-wide commitment to equity.
