Mavis MacNeil is a singer, composer, and music educator from the NEK. She graduated from Hazen in 2010, and went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Music with a concentration in composition from Skidmore College, and a Master of Music in Composition from Bowling Green State University. Her compositions have been performed across the United States, as well as in Canada and Croatia. Ms. MacNeil has over fifteen years of experience as a chorister, and has sung in numerous professional and community ensembles. Most recently, she is a founding member of Halcyon Chorale, an adventurous chamber choir based in St. Johnsbury. In addition to directing Hazen’s choral ensembles, Ms. MacNeil teaches Music Theory, Music Composition, Beginner Guitar, and Seventh Grade General Music.
