Hazen Government Students Spend a Day at the State House

This past April, Hazen students got a glimpse into the inner workings of state government in Montpelier. Students toured the State House, sat in on various Committees, and were even acknowledged by Representative Chip Troiano on the floor of the House of Representatives at the beginning of their session.

Participating students included those taking AP Government taught by Corey Maskell, Government and Civics taught by Allison Paradee, and those taking Government independently with Lynn Patenaude as their instructor. The shared goal of the Government credit is to raise awareness with students about how they can engage with the government at a local and national level, even before they turn 18. Students interested in government classes at Hazen should reach out to their school counselor or any government/civics teacher to learn more.
