The Hazen Union School Learning Commons strives to prepare all students for productive, responsible citizenship, college and/or career readiness, and personal fulfillment in a complex, ever-changing world.
As information specialists and instructional partners, we seek to enrich curriculum, develop students’ multiple literacies and critical thinking, and foster the lifelong enjoyment of reading and authentic learning in all disciplines by:
- Providing equitable physical and intellectual access for all students, faculty, staff, and community members to learning services and resources including equipment, technologies, and information media in a warm, stimulating, safe, curriculum-based environment; and
- Collaborating with teaching staff to promote the skills, dispositions, and responsibilities entailed in the use and exchange of information in all formats, modeling appropriate, effective, and ethical strategies for inquiry, research, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and communication.
This is the complete World Book Encyclopedia, with web links, periodicals, and much more, such as historical features, an extensive dictionary and atlas, and the World Book Biography Center which includes over 10,000 biographies, videos, audio components, etc.
