Spring Parent - Teacher Conferences:  The administrators and faculty of Hazen Union School invite all parents to visit the school for Parent -Teacher Conferences on Thursday, April 2.  Teachers will be available to meet with parents by appointment from 12 noon until 6:30 PM.   To schedule an appointment call Mrs. Quinn at 472-2195.  
Early Release Days:  Students will be released at 11:35 AM on Thursday, April 2 to permit teachers to participate in Parent-Teacher Conferences Students will also be released at 11:35 AM on Friday, April 3, per the published school calendar. 
"Wear Red Day" on Thursday, April 2:   The American Red Cross Disaster Action Team for our county responds to house fires and supports families with lodging, food and clothing.  This good work is funded only by donations and right now they need our support so they are reaching out to schools and communities.  Hazen has declared tomorrow, Thursday, April 2, as "Wear Red Day" to show our support for the Red Cross.  The Hazen SADD and Key Club will have a table set up in the cafeteria during lunch to accept donations from teachers, staff and students.   
Ski and Ride Program: Due to the early release on Friday, the ski trip will not be able to go to Stowe this week.  This is our last slot for the season per our contract with Stowe, however, the student pass will be good all day on Friday, April 3, if students can get to the mountain.  Sunday passes will still be honored as long as we have snow!  Thanks for a great season, Wildcats!!
SAT Deadline Approaching!!  Students who would like to take the SAT or SAT Subject Tests this spring are reminded that the registration deadline for the May 2 test is April 6; the deadline for the June 6 test is May 8.  Hazen Union is a test center for the June 6 test.  Students can register at sat.collegeboard.org.  Students who need assistance with registration can make an appointment in the Guidance Office.  
Scholarships for Graduating Seniors:  Seniors are encouraged to check their Naviance accounts for scholarship information at least weekly.  Deadlines are fast approaching.  The local scholarship application is now available - download it from Naviance or pick up a  copy in the wall pocket outside of the Guidance door.  The deadline is May 1.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. LaPorte.
Community Service Opportunity:  The Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department is looking for students at least 16 years old to help with some odd jobs around the fire house and earn service hours.  The department is also interested in meeting with students who may be interested in the training to become a fire fighter.  Call Jim Holton for information and to sign up 472-3563.
