Student Assembly TODAY!  Hazen Athletics and the Hazen SADD group is sponsoring an assembly for students in grades 7-12 TODAY, Wednesday, March 9, at 9:30 AM.  Ilze Luneau, WNBA and former All-American Basketball player will deliver an important and inspiring message for students.  On Wednesday, March 23,at 9:30 AM, the Hazen YRBS Team will present findings from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey followed by the Improbable Players Theater Group.  The theater group will present a series of short scenes about substance abuse.
Spring Track and Field Meeting:  There will be mandatory meetings for all students interested in participating in Track and Field during student lunch on Wednesday, March 9.  If you are interested in a challenge and an opportunity to get in great shape, come to the meeting and learn about being a member of the Hazen Track and Field Team!  Location of the high school meeting will be announced; the middle school meeting will be held in Mr. Bertolini's room.
Drama Presentation:  The Hazen Union Drama Program will present the one-act play, The Necklace, by Tony Best on Thursday and Friday, March 10 and 11at 7:00 PM at the Hardwick Town House, Church Street, Hardwick.  Tickets will be sold at the door with a $5 recommended donation.  Be sure to mark your calendar for this special performance.
Spring Fling DANCE!  The Hazen Key Club will sponsor a dance on Friday, March 11, from 7 to 11 PM for all students in the Hazen gym.  Admission to the dance is $5.  Students wishing to bring a guest must sign up in the Principal's Office before the end of school on Wednesday, March 9.  
Ciderella's Closet is Open this Saturday!  The United Church of Hardwick will open Cinderella's Closet on Saturday, March 12, from 9 am to 1 pm for students looking for formal attire for Prom at an affordable price.  There are lots of gently used gowns, suits and shoes to choose from.  There will be refreshments and door prizes as well.  Call the Angel Outfitters, 472-6353, or check it out on Facebook!  
March Madness Pizza Sale!  The Hazen Union Junior Class is taking orders for Little Caesar's Pizza Kits through March 11.  Pizza kits will be delivered on March 22, just in time to cook up for a March Madness basketball game!  This is a major fundraiser for Prom 2016 and your support is truly appreciated.  See any Junior, or Jodi Quinn to order.
GMTCC Application Information:  
  • Pre-Tech Applications are due this Friday, March 11th.  Please stop by the Guidance Office for more information
  • Applications for current sophomores and juniors interested in attending GMTCC for the 2016-2017 school year are also available on-line now at gmtcc.info/admission.  Please make an appointment with Chris Miller, Director of Guidance, for more information.
  • NEW IN 2016-2017!  GMTCC will offer an Agriculture and Forestry Foundations course available for 9th and 10th grade Hazen Union students only.  (Agriculture and Forestry Foundations on-line application).  Also see:  Attn 8th and 9th grade flyer from GMTCC.
Green Mountain Girls State:  Hardwick area high school junior girls interested in leadership development and government are encouraged to participate in Green Mountain Girls State program to be held at Vermont Technical College in Randolph June 18-23, 2016.  This amazing opportunity to learn about citizenship is sponsored by the American Legion Auxilliary.  To apply contact Patricia Tedesco atn PTe1218@aol.com or call/text 802-793-4276.  The application deadline is March 18.
Green Mountain Boys State:   Junior boys interested in participating the 2016 Boys State at Lyndon State College June 19-24, should see Mr. Miller for information and an application before May 1st.  This leadership and scholarship camp is sponsored by the American Legion. 
Selective Service Registration:  A reminder that all male US citizens are required to register with the the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Go to www.sss.gov for more information.
