School Closure for Thanksgiving Recess:  School will be closed for students and staff Wednesday through Friday, November 25, 26, and 27.  Best wishes for quality time with family and friends.
The Season of Giving.....
Coin Drive:  From 11/16-11/24 the Middle School House of the Rising Sun will be doing a coin drive for the Hardwick Food Pantry. We invite everyone at Hazen to participate. Being able to purchase local, fresh, nutritious food for people who use the pantry is a great way to remind our community of the ongoing need the pantry provides a solution for.
Supplies for AWARE:  The Middle School House of the Rising Sun is also doing a personal hygiene/toiletries drive for AWARE for their supply closet for people who need to leave their homes suddenly, and don't have basic necessities like: Shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, tooth brushes, feminine hygiene products, combs etc. Coin containers and collection boxes are in the front lobby..
Early Release in December:  Students will be dismissed at 11:35 AM on Tuesday, December 8, to allow teachers to participate in professional development activities.
Driver Education and Inclement Weather Delays:  Scheduled Driver Education driving practice will automatically be cancelled on days that school closes due to inclement weather.
Coming Attractions..... You will definitely want to mark your calendar and plan to attend the premier musical events of the winter season...the Hazen Music Department Winter Concerts!  The Middle School Band and Chorus will perform in the auditorium on Monday, December 7, at 7 PM.  The High School Band and Chorus will perform on Tuesday, December 15, at 7 PM.  In addition...students who will audition for the New England Musical Festival will present a recital for family and friends on Wednesday, December 2, at 7 PM.
Parking Decals are In: The Hazen 2015-16 Parking Permits are in! Students who plan to drive to school and park in the Hazen parking lot should get an Application to Drive Vehicles on School Property form from the Information carousel in front of the Guidance Office. See Mrs. Quinn in the Principal's Office if you have a permit from last year and the same car. Those students will not need to fill out a new form but should pick up a new decal.

After School Activities:  Hazen is pleased to offer the following new extra-curricular activities for the fall semester:
Ultimate Frisbee - 2:45 to 3:45 PM.  Tuesdays
Poetry and Creative Writing with Kaleb Gates - Tuesdays,  2:45 PM in Ms. Harple's room.
