Counterpoint Chorus Concert Today!  The Hazen Music Department has invited Vermont's premier choral singing group,Counterpoint, to teach a workshop to Hazen students and perform in an evening concert for the community on Thursday, May 21, at 7:30 PM in the Hazen Auditorium.  This is a wonderful entertainment opportunity that you will not want to miss. Admission to the concert will be $7; a portion of which will benefit the Hazen Music Department.  
Science NECAP Testing this Week:  All students in grades 8 and 11 will participate in the annual Science NECAP assessments as follows:  Students in grade 8 will test from 8:00 to 9:15 AM on Wednesday, May 20, Thursday, May 21, and Tuesday, May 26. 
Special Assemblies on Friday:  Hazen graduate and UVM student, Taylor Ducharme, along with four other UVM students will be at Hazen on Friday, May 22, to meet with students for a presentation about promoting healthy relationships followed by classroom discussion.  Students in grades 7 and 8 will go to the auditorium for the presentation at 12:15 PM, then return to their Core 1 classes for discussion.  High school students will report to the auditorium at 1:30 PM for the presentation and then return to combined TSAs as follows:  Foster/Boeding report to Ms. Foster's room; Heller/Considine report to Mr. Heller's room; Mr. Behrsing's TSA to his room. Maskell/Mills to Mr. Maskell's room; Ragno/Modry to Mr. Modry's room; Locke/Patenaude report to Ms. Locke's room; Robinson, Langley-Wilbur and Mitchell report to Ms. LW's room; Mr. Dickstein's, Mr. Pennock's, and Ms. Sullivan's TAs report to the well of the Library. 
Ultimate Kickball Tournament this Friday!  Hazen students and teachers will square off in the first ever Ultimate Kickball Tournament on Friday, May 22, at 3 PM on the Hazen ball field.  Beloved Principal Mike Moriarty will lead the team of big-footed faculty against Brandon Partridge and his crew of fearless Wildcats.  The winners will receive bragging rights and the admiration of the student body for the remainder of the school year.  This is a must see it to believe it event and you will not want to miss it!  Come out and cheer on your favorite team.  Also, students are needed to make a banner to advertise the the Ultimate Kickball Tournament.  See Brandon Partridge today to help out!  
Hardwick Spring Festival and Memorial Holiday School Closure:  The Hazen Marching Band will perform in the annual Hardwick Spring Festival Parade on Saturday, May 23.  Please see the Hardwick Gazette for a schedule of events.  Parents and students are reminded that Hazen Union School will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of the Memorial Holiday.

Prom 2015!   The Hazen Union School Class of 2016 is proud to announce Prom 2015 on Saturday, May 30.  Juniors and Seniors and their guests will dance under the stars and moonlight at Jeudevine Falls.  Tickets are on sale for members of the Junior and Senior through May 22.  Tickets are $15 single and $25 for a couple.  Students planning to bring a guest from another school must sign them up before May 22 in the Principal's Office.
2014-15 Yearbook Now on Sale!  The Hazen Yearbook goes is now available to purchase for only $20! Mr. Mitchell will take orders in the front lobby every morning.  The supply is limited so reserve your copy before it is too late!
