Sign Language Club to Hold their First Meeting: The Hazen Sign Language Club will meet on Tuesday, October 4, during high school lunch in Ms. Pfeffer's room. Students interested in learning sign language should grab their lunch and join the meeting!
Lifetouch School Picture Re-take Day: Students and staff who missed the school picture day will have another opportunity on Wednesday, October 12. Every student must have a free photo taken for their school ID even if they don't plan to order a picture package.
Hazen Spirit Week and Homecoming!! The annual Hazen Spirit Week and Homecoming festivities will begin on Wednesday, October 12 through Saturday, October 22, when the Varsity Soccer Teams will match up against Lake Region. The Varsity Club has planned a week of special themes to rev up Wildcat School Spirit including Well Dressed Wednesday on October 12, followed by Twin Day on Thursday, October 13, Class Color Day on Friday, and Red Neck Day on Monday, October 17. Wildcats will be asked to wear their Red, White and Blue on Tuesday, October 18 for the Pep Rally! The Hazen Marching Band will lead students to the gym for a raucous celebration of Wildcat Pride! Go Cats!
Unity Day at Hazen! The Hazen community is encouraged to wear ORANGE on Wednesday, October 19, in solidarity with schools around the country who are also participating in events to raise awareness against bullying.
October Teacher Professional Days - October 19, 20 and 21 – Students will be dismissed early (11:35 am) on Wednesday, October 19, and school will be closed for students on Thursday, October 20, and Friday, October 21, to allow teachers to participate in professional development training.
GMTCC Open House: All members of the community are cordially invited to tour the facilities of the Green Mountain Technical and Career Center in Hyde Park on Wednesday, October 19, from 6 to 8 PM. Instructors and students will be on hand to talk about their programs and an affordable Pasta Dinner with all the fixins' will be available from 5:30 to 6:30 PM served by the Culinary Arts students. Prices are $6 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 (under 5 are free).
Annual Student Information / Medical Information Update Now Overdue! It is absolutely essential that the school has access to the most current information for our students, especially in an emergency situation or should your child become ill or injured at school. Please update and sign the form your child brought home in the first day packet and return it to the Guidance Office as soon as possible.
New Student Parking Permits for 2016-17! Attention student drivers! Students who drive to school and park in the Hazen parking lot each day should register their vehicle in the Principal's Office and display a Student Parking Pass. The Parking Pass is free! See Mrs. Quinn in the Principal's Office for a form.
Important Fall Happenings to Note on your Calendar
Senior Class Meeting with Josten’s Rep: Members of the Senior Class will meet with the Josten’s representative at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 24, during TSA to discuss ordering caps and gowns and graduation announcements. Seniors will receive their ordering information packet at this meeting.
Coffee House: The Music Department will sponsor a Coffee House on Monday, October 24, in the Auditorium from 6 pm to 8 pm. Students interested in performing should see Krista Hebert or Solomon Race.
Fall Parent Teacher Conferences – Fall Parent Teacher conferences will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016. School will be closed for students on this day.
November Recess – School will be closed Wednesday, November 23 through Friday, November 25, 2016.
