Ski and Ride 2017!  The first Ski and Trip program trip to Stowe is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11.  Students participating in the program are reminded that all gear must be in the Hazen lobby by 10 AM to be picked up by the ski truck...no skis or snowboards are allowed on the bus.  Remember!  All skiers and riders MUST wear a helmet.  Middle and High School students must eat 1st lunch and be in the lobby ready to board the bus at 11:45 AM.  The bus returning to Hazen from Stowe will depart at 4:00 PM.      

Drama Club Auditions:  The Hazen Drama Club will hold auditions on Tuesday, January 10, for the One-Act Festival.  Auditions are open to all high school and interested middle school students, however, priority is given to high school students.  This year's production will be an adaptation of Karen Hensse's "Witness".  Pickup audition materials and details from Mr. Considine before Tuesday.  

Dual Enrollment Workshop for High School Parents and Students:  The Hazen Guidance Department will sponsor a workshop on Dual Enrollment - High School and College for parents and high school students who may be interested in attending and earning college credit during their senior year.  The workshop will be held in the Hazen Library on Thursday, January 12, from 5 to 6 PM.  

Martin Luther King Day Observed-  School will be closed for students on Monday, January 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Day.  There will be a Teacher Work Day on that day.  

Governor's Institute of Vermont Winter Weekend Offerings!  The GIV Winter Weekend offerings for 2017 are exciting and varied to meet almost every interest....including Law and Animals, Intermediate Robotics, Architecture Invention, Vocal Performance and Performing and Writing Comedy!  The registration deadline is January 16.  See Mr. Miller in Guidance for information on how to apply.

Chess Club returns in January!  The Hazen Chess Club will begin weekly after school meetings on Tuesdays.  All skill levels are welcome so come challenge yourself!  Students with questions can see Mr. Lockhart, Chess Club Advisor.

New Student Parking Permits for 2016-17!  Attention student drivers!  Students who drive to school and park in the Hazen parking lot each day should register their vehicle in the Principal's Office and display a Student Parking Pass.  The Parking Pass is free!  See Mrs. Quinn in the Principal's Office for a form.
