Prom 2016!  Tickets go on today, sale on Monday, April 11, for Prom 2016, An Evening Under the Stars, to be held on Saturday, May 7, at Hope Grows FarmRte 15, Hyde Park.  Members of the junior and senior tickets can purchase tickets during lunch in the cafeteria for $20 each.  Students attending GMTCC or early college can see Mrs. Quinn in the office for tickets before and after school.
Mix-It-Up-at-Lunch this Friday!  Students will be assigned to tables based on their birthday...there will be games, prizes and fun galore!  Sponsored by the Hazen SADD Group.
Leukemia/Lymphoma Raffle this Week:  Learn about how Leukemia/Lymphoma has affected a Hazen family this week and support a fund-raising raffle sponsored by the Hazen National Honor Society.  NHS members will sell tickets during lunch in the cafeteria.  
Spring Break!!   School will be closed for students and staff April 18 through April 22, 2016 for Spring Break!  
Community Meeting this Week:  The Vermont Council for Rural Development will hold a meeting on the topic of school and community for community members at Hazen on Wednesday, April 13, at 6 PM to continue the work started at the earlier meetings. 
Volunteers Needed for an Emergency Drill!  Students aged 17 or older who would like to earn community service while participating in a Emergency Services Drill should come to Hazen on Wednesday, April 20, by 12 noon. Volunteers will act as community members needing assistance.  Contact Karl Stein, 533-2379, to sign up to volunteer by April 15.    
Family Cancer Run / Walk hosted by Friends of HES:  Friends of Hardwick Elementary School invite you and your family, friends and others in your community to come to the Hardwick Trails and enjoy a run/walk in the outdoors to support a great cause, the Lamoille Area Cancer Network on Sunday, May 15.  Registration will begin at 8:15 AM; the Run/Walk will begin at 9 AM.  There will be 3 course available this year for all levels.  Hazen students wishing to help with this event can earn community service...see Nicole desGroseilliers for information.  
Coming Attractions....the Season is Not Over!  If you can't get enough Hazen Hoops, you will not want to miss the charity basketball game is being planned for Saturday, April 30, at 7 PM in the Hazen Gym to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Hazen Varsity Boys, Division III Champions, will be challenged by a team of alumni with victory in mind!  It's sure to be a delightful event for spectators, so reserve the date on your calendar and plan to be at Hazen.  The game is being organized by Hazen Middle School House 2 as a community service project so come out an support this activity.  
Summer Programs for Personal Growth and Fun!  Information on summer programs to students is available in Guidance Office.  Girls interested in spending time with horses and learning about Martial Arts, check out the program being offered by Ms. Pfeffer from June 27 to July 27.... Walking with Horses - Circular Harmony Summer Program.  The Buck's Lake Green Mountain Conservation Camp (GMCC) offers overnight camps for students wishing to participate in hunter safety, camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, orienteering, forestry and more!  Limited scholarships are being offered for Hazen students.  Please see Mr. Miller in Guidance for additional information.
