The Season of Giving:  Hazen Food Drive:  Hazen students and staff are collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to the local shelf.  Mr. Dekens is coordinating the event and all are asked to contribute to the donation barrel and boxes located around school.
Coin Drive:  From 11/16-11/24 the Middle School House of the Rising Sun will be doing a coin drive for the Hardwick Food Pantry. We invite everyone at Hazen to participate. Being able to purchase local, fresh, nutritious food for people who use the pantry is a great way to remind our community of the ongoing need the pantry provides a solution for.
Supplies for AWARE:  The Middle School House of the Rising Sun is also doing a personal hygiene/toiletries drive for AWARE for their supply closet for people who need to leave their homes suddenly, and don't have basic necessities like: Shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, tooth brushes, feminine hygiene products, combs etc. Coin containers and collection boxes are in the front lobby..
Junior Class Meeting: There will be a meeting of the Junior Class on Tuesday, November 17, during TSA to turn in final calendar sales,
OSSU Chorus Day at Hazen:  On November 19, 2015 the halls of Hazen will ring with the sounds of harmony as choral singers from the district come together for the annual Chorus Day.  A full day of workshops and rehearsals will end with a public concert in the gym at 6 PM.  Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy the talents of our students!
Special Assembly and Presentations:  Also on Thursday, November 19, nationally acclaimed speaker,Calvin Terrell, will visit Hazen to present a program on bullying prevention.  Middle school students will hear the presentation from 7:50 to 9:00 AM.  High school students will hear the presentation from 9:25 to 10:55 AM.
School Closure for Thanksgiving Recess:  School will be closed for students and staff Wednesday through Friday, November 25, 26, and 27.
Parking Decals are In: The Hazen 2015-16 Parking Permits are in! Students who plan to drive to school and park in the Hazen parking lot should get an Application to Drive Vehicles on School Property form from the Information carousel in front of the Guidance Office. See Mrs. Quinn in the Principal's Office if you have a permit from last year and the same car. Those students will not need to fill out a new form but should pick up a new decal.
