Green Up Day this Saturday!  Students planning to participate in the Green Up Day activities in their community are reminded that this is the perfect opportunity to earn community service hours that count towards the graduation requirement!  Pick up a form from Mrs. Quinn or in the front office.
SBAC Testing for Juniors:  All 11th grade students will participate in SBAC testing on "B" days next week: Monday - May 4, Wednesday - May 6, and Friday - May 8.  To accommodate the testing schedule, the schedule will run 4-2-3-1 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 
Prom 2015!   The Hazen Union School Class of 2016 is proud to announce Prom 2015 on Saturday, May 30.  Juniors and Seniors and their guests will dance under the stars and moonlight at Jeudevine Falls.  Tickets will go on sale for members of the Junior and Senior classes on Monday, May 4 through May 22.  Tickets are $15 single and $25 for a couple.  Students planning to bring a guest from another school must sign them up before May 22 in the Principal's Office.
Babe Ruth Baseball Sign Ups:  Sign up is still open for boys and girls ages 13 to 15 (and some 16 year olds) interested in playing Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball this year.  The registration fee is $65.  Call Lisa Delarichliere for registration information at 472-6207 or see Mrs. Quinn in the Principal's Office for a form.  
Red Cross Blood Drive at Hazen:  The Hazen National Honor Society will sponsor a Blood Drive in the Hazen gym on Tuesday, May 5, from 12:30 TO 6 pm.  Students 16 and older can donate blood, however, parent's permission is required for 16 year olds.  See Mike Clark for information, permission slips, or to volunteer.
Jump Rope for Heart:  The Hazen SADD group will sponsor Jump Rope for Heart to raise awareness of the importance of excercise for a healthy heart on Friday, May 8.  Participating middle school students will be accepting donations for the American Heart Association.  
Community Service at Hazen:  Students who would like to get some fresh air and earn community service hours should see Mr. Modry about working in the greenhouse.  Earn hours while helping your school to produce fresh produce for the lunch program!  
Scholarships Deadlines Approaching!  Seniors are encouraged to check their Naviance accounts for new scholarship information. Deadlines are fast approaching so don't miss out!
GMCC Camp at Buck Lake Sponsorship:  The Hardwick Kiwanis Club offers sponsorship of tuition for a week at camp at Buck Lake.  Students ages 12 to 16 are eligible to apply.  Applications are available at the Guidance page. Go to the Parent Information tab, then select the "Summer Opportunities" link.  The deadline to submit the application is this Friday, May 1.  
SAT Deadline approaching and Hazen Test Seats are Limited!  Hazen Union is a test center for the June 6  SAT test and students wishing to take the test at Hazen should register ASAP as the seats are filling up!  Late registrants may have to take the test at another location.  The registration deadline for the June 6 test is May 8.   Students can register at sat.collegeboard.org.  Students who need assistance with registration can make an appointment in the Guidance Office.
