Free Throw Championship: Attention Middle School Students!  The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition will take place at the Hazen Gym on Sunday, January 31st, for boys and girls ages 9-14.  Registration begins at 12:30 PM; Shooting starts at 1:00 PM.  Contact Jon Lussier, 472-5030 for additional information.

Happy Valentine's Day!  The Junior Class is planning a Carnation Sale and Snack-Grams just in time for Valentine's Day!  Students and staff can order flowers and snacks to be delivered on February 12th.  Watch for the flyers around school!  Junior will start taking orders on Monday!

Valentine's Day Raffle!  Need a Bear Hug??  The Junior Class is selling raffle tickets for a Giant Teddy Bear to be raffled on Friday, February 12th...just in time for Valentine's Day!  Tickets are only 2 for $1.00!!  Buy tickets at the front desk or from Mrs. Quinn in the Principal' Office.  

Reminder!  Early Release and Professional Development Days:  Students and parents are reminded that students will be dismissed at 11:35 on Thursday, February 4, and closed for students on Friday, February 5, 2016.  Teachers will participate in professional development training on those days.

GMTCC Applications Are Now Available:  Green Mountain Technology and Career Center applications are now available on-line for the 2016-2017 school year.  There is a separate application process for the Pre-Tech program for prospective 10th grade students.  New in 2016-2017: GMTCC will offer an Agriculture and Forestry Foundations course available to 9th and 10th grade Hazen Union students only.  See Mr. Miller in Guidance for more details for any GMTCC program.

School Choice Applications: School Choice applications for the 2016-2017 school year are now available. Applications from students residing in the Hazen Union School district are due to the HUS Guidance Office preferably by February 18th so that we can meet the Winooski Valley Collarborative's deadline before Winter Break. Community Service Opportunity:  The  Green Mountain Conservation Camp is looking for volunteers for their annual work weekend at Buck Lake Camp on May 28 and 29.  For information and registration please contact GMCC Camp Coordinator at (802) 461-6487 or FWGMCC@vermont.gov.
